Raised Beds - great solutions for vegetable gardeners!

If you have been thinking about starting a raised bed garden, come volunteer to learn how to plan and install them.Raised beds are great options for growing small & defined areas of vegetables, herbs or flowers. Easy to maintain and last year after year, these beds will keep your soil from compacting or eroding and minimize your weeding. Raised beds are above ground, consequently, they can substantially lengthen your growing season!

With so many benefits, come out and volunteer to learn how to and help build them at the Learning Garden.

Volunteers will learn how to plan & build raised beds. You'll have hands-on experience with knowledgeable raised bed gardeners while constructing new raised beds for the Learning Garden. This will be a great opportunity for volunteer groups, such as Scouts, student or community organizations.

The Learning Garden is located behind the Falls City Masonic Lodge, 4303 337th Pl SE, Fall City.

What to bring

Bring shovels, mallets/hammers, rakes, gardening gloves, hat and water. Additional tools and supplies will be provided.

Dress appropriately for garden work in variable spring weather! We'll work in light rain, heavy rain will cancel.

This workshop is free but DONATIONS are welcome!

We are moving our beds closer to the Masonic Hall. We need to purchase cedar lumber for new beds, and topsoil to fill them. You can donate to the Fall City Learning Garden through Sno-Valley Tilth at
