planning

  • We’ll be planning the 2016 season for the Learning Garden, Thursday January 21, 6:30 to 8:30 at the Fall City Library, 33415 SE 42nd Pl., and will help you develop a plan for yours.

  • In our October hands-on learning you'll help build and plant a Hugelkultur mound. You'll use scrap wood and woody prunings to create a Hugelkultur mound to increase soil fertility and water holding capacity!

  • The Fall City Learning Garden and P-Patch is hosting a garden planning workshop
Wednesday January 28, 6:30 to 8:30 at the Fall City Library, 33415 SE 42nd Pl., Fall City

We'll be planning the 2015 season for the Learning Garden, and will help you develop a plan for yours. Whatever your garden size, bring your dreams, get inspired, and begin this year's garden adventure!

We'll provide worksheets, handouts, gardening calendars, seed catalogs, and snacks.

We invite experienced gardeners to come and share your planning methods, and less experienced gardeners to come for inspiration and assistance.

  • Join us for hands-on learning opportunities Wednesday December 3 and Wednesday December 17, 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., weather permitting. (We’ll be there unless there is heavy rain.)
December tasks in the garden include harvesting winter greens for the Fall City Community Food Pantry, mulching, weeding, composting, and general garden maintenance. Stop by to see our winter cover crops and see how the winter greens are doing.
You can have fun as a volunteer with the Fall City Learning Garden and P-Patch!  Help grow fresh produce for the Fall City Community Food Pantry, share your vegetable gardening skills with other gardeners, or contribute your ideas and vision by joining our team.
The Garden is located behind the Masonic Hall in the center of Fall City, at 4304 337th Pl. SE. Garden access is from the alley behind the Masonic Hall.

Join us for an occasional hour at the garden, or more.

  • (Past event) The Fall City Learning Garden and P-Patch is hosting a sequel to January's garden planning workshop.
Wednesday February 25, 6:30 to 8:30 at the Fall City Library, 33415 SE 42nd Pl., Fall City

Thank you to all the lively interested gardeners who attended the Plan Your Edible Garden with Us workshop in January. We had so many enthusiastic people that many did not get an opportunity to complete the planning worksheets. We've scheduled this evening at the Fall City Library for any of you who would like to dig deeper into garden planning.

  • (Past event) The Fall City Learning Garden and P-Patch presented its first workshop of 2014, Thursday, January 16, 6:30 at the Fall City Library.

Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome to plan their gardens.

  • As plant growth slows with the arrival of cool, damp, and short days, I have a bit of time to reflect on this past growing season. The Learning Garden has certainly provided fertile ground for learning! The garden began as an idea, and land, offered by the Masonic Lodge after the 2013 seed exchange. We held several community meetings to assess community support. Six adventurous people were willing to take on the project.
